1. Prepare and Protect
• Put on an old shirt or a salon cape, and slip on the included disposable gloves.
• Detangle your hair and use the Croc-Clip to divide your hair into manageable sections (usually 4 quadrants: top, sides, and back).
2. Mix Your Color
• Measure out your hair color and developer according to the manufacturer's specific ratio instructions (commonly 1:1 or 1:2).
• Squeeze the color tube and pour the developer into the Colortrak color bowl.
• Use the flat or bristle end of the applicator brush to stir the mixture thoroughly until it reaches a smooth, creamy, lump-free consistency.
3. Apply the Color
• Use the pointy tail-end (or edge) of your brush to carve out thin, clean subsections of hair.
• Dip the firm bristle brush into the bowl and load a controlled amount of color.
• Apply the color starting at the roots or the areas that need the most coverage (such as the hairline and gray-prone zones), then work your way through the mid-lengths and ends.
• Use your gloved fingers or the brush to gently massage and distribute the product so every strand is evenly saturated.
4. Process and Rinse
• Set a timer and let the hair color process for the exact time recommended by your hair dye instructions (typically 30 to 45 minutes).
• Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water until it runs clear, then follow up with your preferred shampoo and conditioner.
• Wash and dry the bowl and brush immediately after use so the dye doesn't stain or dry onto the plastic.
